Pat Muller and Susan Patten have been proud stewards of Valentine Lakeside since 2016. They are the sixth owners of this special place, proud to build on its traditions and temperament.

Families and fishermen have enjoyed relaxing getaways at Valentine Lakeside for more than 65 years. The quaint vacation destination is on the quiet, breezy banks of the Llano River in Kingsland, Texas, near where the Llano River meets the Colorado River to form Lake LBJ.

Valentine brings people together to enjoy a slower pace and make memories that last a lifetime. The sunrises and sunsets – and the people who come here to watch them – are amazing.

Valentine’s 19 guest rooms range from 1-room efficiencies to 3-bedroom homes, all with fully stocked kitchens, charcoal grills and picnic tables. The RV camp has 8 full hookups and a bath house. Valentine is a great choice for any of life’s celebrations, reunions, retreats, weddings and company gatherings.  It’s also a base for fishing tournaments, a temporary home for Winter Texans, and a guest house for locals.

Valentinians enjoy a heart-shaped pool, swimming in the lake, boat lifts, water-toy rentals and an on-site essentials store. Plenty of chairs at the shoreline give guests a place to fish and hang out. Mature pecan trees provide a shady canopy for hammock naps. Guests make s’mores in the fire pit and borrow lawn games to play on lakeside terraces.

Despite its remote vibe, Valentine Lakeside is a half mile away from a groceries, restaurants, bars, shops, coffee houses and music venues. Those who love exploring small towns head to nearby Marble Falls, Llano and Burnet. Plenty of wineries, breweries and distilleries are close. Golfers choose from eight courses within a half hour drive. The pass-through lake in the Highland Lakes chain is perfect for waterskiing, jet skiing, boating and fishing.
Valentine is in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, where there are festivals and markets year-round. It’s one hour from Austin, two hours from San Antonio and less than four hours from Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston.

Pat and Susan – known as the #ChicksOfValentine – left successful executive careers and are composing a life on the lake, engaging in the #KingslandStrong community.

Pat is a charismatic life coach, mentor , speaker and licensed wedding officiant, committed to encouraging the positive transformation of the lives of others. You can learn more about her and watch her two TedX speeches at www.linkedin.com/in/thepatmuller.  Her favorite part of running Valentine is interacting with the diverse guests who make their way to the property.

Susan is a veteran bridge-builder and negotiator, spending most of her career in journalism and politics. At Valentine, she is focused on the behind-the-scenes details that make for a great guest experience.

The “chicks” tend to a productive chicken coop and a posse of dogs and cats that customers love to interact with. If Pat gets her way, pygmy goats will join the family some day.

We look forward to your stay.
